Tuesday, May 13: A note from Team 7 from the road to the Gold. Following our European circuit ending in France, we each spent a few days to recoup and reorganize and Debbie worked diligently to plan her 1st of two Long Island fundraisers on May 2nd. The following day the team packed up and flew to Miami for a month of training. The second of the Long Island events will be in Manorville, NY on June 6th at the Rock Hill Golf and Country Club. If you are interested or have questions about this event please write to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . The following night Team 7 will be in Pewaukee, WI for a Sail for Gold Gala at the Pewaukee Yacht Club from 6:00 pm until midnight, with live and silent auctions. All are invited!
Joy and Mark Rose graciously opened up their beautiful home Friday, May 2nd on the Great South Bay to Bayport-BluePoint community leaders and members for a cocktail party in our honor. We all had a wonderful time learning about Debbie's hometown and talking with the more than two-hundred guests, many of them who were instrumental in helping Debbie become who she is today.
Thank you to everyone who generously donated at this event to help us bring home a gold this summer. Without such supporting community members, friends, and family members, like those who came out Friday night, we wouldn't be where we are today. We'd also like to thank our generous sponsors for their support. Specifically, thanks to: SeaBags for coming down to sell Team 7 bags, Sperry Top-Sider for donating sun visors to all of our guests, SailFast for printing the shirts and hats, and to Laser Performance for the donation of the Sunfish and Laser Radial sails for the raffle.
